Dr Chelsea McMahon studied a Bachelor of Science majoring in Microbiology & Biochemstry, and a Bachelor of Medicine at Sydney University, 2004. She commenced her career at St Vincent's hospital, furthering her studies to specialise in Endocrinolgy, graduating in 2014.

Dr McMahon’s areas of interests include diabetes (type 1, type 2 and pregnancy-related), insulin resistance including Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, thyroid disorders, metabolic syndrome and obesity, osteoporosis and bone and calcium disorders.
Chelsea regularly attends national and international meetings in endocrinology and has ongoing research at The Garvan Institute of Medical Research looking at the effect of bisphosphonate therapy on the human immune system, and the baseline predictors for disorders of glucose metabolism in individuals infected with the HIV virus.
